Poked and Prodded

It's been a while since I last sat down to catch up with you all.

First of all, I'm 17 weeks now! Time sure does fly, doesn't it?

A couple weeks ago I had my first vet visit. Well, first visit in my new home. I was scheduled to get my first puppy exam, and get my third set of shots. After weighing the pros and cons of many different places my girl decided to go to Nelson Animal Hospital. They're just up the road from us too, so that's great.

When we got there, we checked in and I had my first cat encounter.  Her name was Tripod, and I'll leave it up to you to guess why.

After I got myself a swat for being too nosy with Tripod, it was time to head into our appointment room. So. Many. Smells. I wonder how many dogs have been in there.

Our vet, Dr. Gale, was very kind and informing. We are very happy with the clinic we chose. She let my girls know that my puppy hiccups & zoomies every night are completely normal. I enjoyed my experience, everyone pet me and gave me treats. The fancy kind of treats.

All in all, I was very well behaved for my shots and exam. I had some irritation and discharge from my lady bits, and it turned out to be puppy vaginitis.. which is very common in female puppies. I've since gone through a series of antibiotics.. which I didn't even mind since they were hidden in treats.. And they thought I didn't know. Pft.

I've got another appointment in a couple weeks to get some boosters.

Till then! x

Happy Canada Day!

Hope you all had a great Canada day yesterday! I didn't do too much, stayed in.. had some walks. I didn't even mind the fireworks really.

Hop, Skip, & a Jump

Last night I went to my Nannie's house. Nannie as in the coolest and cutest grandma.

Now, I've met her before.. but just in the front of her house.
But now I got to experience her backyard - every dog's dream.

It's not fully fenced though, so I had to go on my long lead that ties into the ground. For special occasions like this, yeknow.
There was so much room to run around, and I was playing fetch for ages!

.... and check out this video of me fetching in action!

To market, to market..

Hello Summer!

It's been a busy few days so I'm glad to finally catch up on my blogging. Between my girl taking me out every hour in hopes I'll pee outside, and chasing me around within those hours, we don't have too much down time.

Today's been a good day. I mean, c'mon.. it's the start of summer. Not that I've experienced summer before.. but still. To kick off this splendid season, my girls took me to the Farmer's Market. It's been around for ages, and has all kinds of goodies from flowers, fruits, breads, cheeses, sausages.. you name it, it's got it. My nose was having a hay-day with all these smells.

Everyone other person stopped to pet me and ask my girls about my breed.

Can you blame them? I'm adorable.
Needless to say, I loved the attention.

Miss A got us some sausages for the BBQ tonight. Score. We also picked up some lovely strawberries! They are my girl's favourite.

I love meeting all different kinds of people. The seniors really do seem to love me, and the little kids too of course. My girl's never had a Wheaten before, but everyone we seem to talk to just rave about the breed.

BOL - He was showing me a bone as big as my body!
That brings us to now, finally some downtime before dinner.

Have a great night everyone! x

Goodbye peacocks, Hello big city!

Bonjour mes amis!
Okay, who am I kidding? I'm a dog.. I don't speak French.

Woof!
Much better.

I'd like to start off by introducing myself - my name is Karma. Yes, I am a bitch - In more ways than one.
It all started on a hobby farm for me.. and when I mean hobby, I do mean hobby. My first friends were emus, turkeys, chickens, peacocks, mini horses, you name it. My biological mother & father were just like me -  half Schnauzer, half Wheaten. With the Wheaten being the stronger gene.
The hobby farm I was born on
We were a small family, just 2 girls and a boy. However, I was the runt. They didn't think I would survive.. But here I am teaching them all a lesson. Since they didn't think I would survive, they didn't doc my tail or get rid of my dew claws.  My girl likes me better that way.

So, some time passed and my sister had left us for another family. It was just my brother and I left. My girl had an eye on our ad for a while, and hoped that some puppies were still available. When she called in, she found out they also had me - but I wasn't advertised. My girl then arranged to come and see me the day after her 20th birthday. I would like to believe it was love at first sight. Or fate. Or whatever. But I knew she was mine, and she knew I was hers.

Before I knew it, I was in her arms heading off the property. Oh what a world awaited me! Good bye peacocks, and hello big city! Sort of.
My girl & I

It's been a week since then and so much has happened. First of all, I live with the most amazing two girls. Kinda biased. My girl's name is Caitlin, and we also live with her Mom, Angela. Now Miss A isn't too comfortable with dogs yet so it's been a big adjustment for her. I've been learning real fast, and I don't leap on her. She's totally lovestruck over me. Who can blame her.
Me & Miss A

I'm a growing pup - already 14 weeks! Not that I'm counting or anything.

Off to take a nap, we'll talk some more later.
I'll leave you all with this cute picture of me.
